Grade 6 Analysts: Creating the Right Climate and Influencing the Culture in the Government Analytical Service

Overview

This practical two-day course is designed for Grade 6 analysts who want to strengthen their impact as leaders and play a more active role in shaping the culture of the Government Analytical Service.

The course explores what it means to lead authentically at Grade 6, with particular emphasis on creating the conditions in which individuals and teams can perform at their best. Participants will examine the role of psychological safety in supporting better outcomes, openness, learning and self-development, and consider how this can be established and sustained within their own teams and wider organisation.

The programme also explores different leadership styles, alongside the structures and behaviours that help leaders influence effectively and negotiate with confidence. Small-group discussion gives participants the opportunity to share experience, compare approaches and explore the realities of leadership in the analytical service.

The course is highly practical, with opportunities for participants to work on real-life leadership and negotiation situations through one-to-one practice with the facilitator/coach. Participants will also reflect on their own leadership approach and identify practical actions for their continued development.
